Ravenswood

Ravenswood in a small town in the Peel region of Western Australia. The town is located along Pinjarra Road and on the banks of the Murray River. The town retains the name it was given as a property which was established in the 1840s.

Armadale

Armadale is a suburb within the City of Armadale, located on the south-eastern edge of Perth’s metropolitan area. The major junction of the South Western and Albany Highways, which connect Perth with the South West and Great Southern regions of Western Australia respectively, is located within the suburb. It is also the terminus of the Armadale railway line, one of five major railway lines to service Perth.

Curtin University

Curtin University is an Australian university with its main campus (Bentley) in Perth, Western Australia. Curtin University is Western Australia’s largest university with over 44,000 students. Curtin has a growing reputation for research success in a number of areas including (but not limited to) Resources and Energy (e.g. petroleum gas), Information and Communication, Health, Ageing and Well-being (Public Health), Communities and Changing Environments, and Growth and Prosperity.

Perth Railway Station

Perth railway Station including Perth Underground is the largest railway station in Perth, Western Australia, and functions as an interchange between the Transperth Trains Armadale / Thornlie, Joondalup, Fremantle, Midland and Mandurah railway lines, as well as the Transwa Australind. The Victorian style building was built between 1893 and 1894. It replaced an earlier station built when the railway first opened in 1881. The building has been renovated numerous times since being built.

Old Coast Road

Old Coast Road is a Western Australian highway linking Mandurah, WA’s second-largest city, 75 km south of Perth, with Bunbury, WA’s third-largest city. It is signed as Route 1 for most of its length and is 96 kilometres (60 mi) long.

Yalgorup National Park

Yalgorup National Park is a national park in Western Australia (Australia), 105 km south of Perth, and directly south of Mandurah. the name rises from the two Noongar Aboriginal words Yalgor meaning lake and up meaning place of.

The Margaret River

Margaret River is a river in southwest Western Australia. Although small and unremarkable, it is the eponym of the iconic town and tourist region of Margaret River, famous for its surfing, caves and wine. The mouth of the river is a small estuary, closed to the ocean by a sandbar that opens only seasonally.

Rotary Hoist

A Hills Hoist is a height-adjustable rotary clothes line, invented in Adelaide, Australia by Lance Hill in 1945. It is distinguished from other rotary clothes lines by a crown and pinion winding mechanism allowing the clothesline to be lowered and raised. Hills Hoist and similar derivatives remain a common fixture in many backyards in Australia and New Zealand. It is considered one of Australia’s most recognisable icons, and is used frequently by artists as a metaphor for Australian suburbia in the 1950s and ’60s.

Pinjarra Road

Pinjarra Road is a major west-east road connecting the two major centres of the Peel Region, Mandurah and Pinjarra. Mostly a dual carriageway, it also forms the termini of both the Kwinana Freeway and Forrest Highway.

Thongs

Thongs (flip-flops) are an open type of outdoor footwear, consisting of a flat sole held loosely on the foot by a Y-shaped strap, like a thin thong, that passes between the first (big) and second toes and around either side of the foot. Unlike sandals, thongs do not secure the ankle.
