Kudardup is a locality in the South West region of Western Australia. The locality is in the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River and on the Bussell Highway, 312 kilometres (194 mi) south of the state capital, Perth

Nannup to Augusta, day 4, Thursday 21 September 2000. I started from Nannup at 7:28 on a cold morning – che gelide manine [cold hands!]. It was sunny and the forest looked beautiful in the clear white light. As in 1981, the first 20km seemed easy despite the hills.

I rested at 244 at a quaint picnic spot that hadn’t been there in 1981. A gravel bank had been built beside the road and tables and benches placed on it, made from lumps of wood that happened to be shaped more or less to the purpose. A number of other lumps of wood, shaped naturally to resemble birds and animals, had been placed or hung about.

Margaret River to Augusta and Cape Leeuwin 1992

Margaret River to Cape Leeuwin, day 3, Wednesday 28 October 1992. Fine, light SW. I left the motel at 7.56 and rode up through the town (24812), taking the turnoff to get to Boodjidup Road, thence to Caves Road. I was aiming to be at Lake Cave in plenty of time for the 9.30 tour advertised in the local tourist paper in the motel unit. I passed the Mammoth Cave turnoff 15 km from Margaret River and reached Lake Cave, 24830, at 9.04.

The tour time had been changed to 10 am so I had time for a drink and a walk on the trail to look for wildflowers. I was rewarded by a donkey orchid, hundreds of pink fairy orchids and one pure white ‘albino’ one, and a large blue flower which I was to see several times at other places, which I believe was also an orchid.  ...
